The ATI (American Tactical / ATI Outdoors) AR-15 Commercial Buffer Tube, part A5101000, is a commercial-diameter receiver extension for AR-15 pattern rifles. Machined from 6061-T6 aluminium and Type III hardcoat anodised, it gives six locking positions for commercial-spec adjustable buttstocks and suits Australian licence holders rebuilding or repairing a Category D AR-15 pattern rifle or straight-pull AR variant.
Is this mil-spec or commercial? Commercial. Commercial and mil-spec buffer tubes have different outside diameters, so check that your buttstock is commercial-spec before ordering; ATI sell a separate mil-spec tube.
Does it include the castle nut, buffer and spring? Part A5101000 is the tube itself. ATI’s current kit code A.5.10.1050 adds the castle nut, locking ring, recoil plug and buffer spring; contact 3GT to confirm what is in the box for this stock item.
Will it fit an AR-10? No. ATI state it is not compatible with AR-10 or .308 rifles.
