The Howard Leight Impact Sport is the standard-issue electronic earmuff on Australian ranges. Twin directional microphones amplify voices and surroundings up to four times for natural hearing, and the circuitry cuts amplification the instant noise reaches 82 dB so every shot is attenuated. Rated Class 4 (SLC80 24 dB) to AS/NZS 1270 and NRR 22 in the US, the slim earcups clear a rifle stock, the padded headband adjusts and folds for the range bag, and two AAA batteries give around 350 hours with a 4-hour auto shut-off. A 3.5 mm AUX input takes a radio or phone. This listing is the OD Green version (1013530 / R-01526).
Are these Class 5?
No – the Impact Sport is Class 4 (SLC80 24 dB), which is the common rating for electronic shooting muffs. For heavy centrefire or indoor pistol use, add foam plugs underneath.
How is the Impact Sport different from the Impact Sport Bolt?
